Daniel Svarre lives and work in Copenhagen.
MFA, Malmö Art Academy, 2006
Daniel Svarre (B. DK 1976) takes interest in objects and symbols in our surroundings which are part of what creates a collective identity. In his works Svarre sets off in the formative years, as a person grows from adolescent to adult. During these years the individual is highly effected by furniture, objects and clothes as they sinal different codes defining the individual as a kind of ”uniform” or shell. All thes codes (in design, clothes etc) Daniel Svarre investigates as a visual shell, caring for and giving meaning to ”the collective” but also acting somewhat excluding to the outsider.
